Tim's area of focus is central London public realm projects and the urban regeneration benefits of Crossrail. Trained as an architect in Germany, it was during his time as an Academic Exchange Scholar (DAAD) at the University of East London that he developed a great enthusiasm for London, its places, landscapes, buildings, economy and culture.
With over ten years experience in Germany, the Netherlands and the UK, his work focused on the scale of the city, as well as building projects in charged urban situations. At ASTOC/Kees Christiaanse Architects & Planners Tim was involved in a number of large scale strategic projects, including the Urban Design Framework for Hafencity Hamburg. He was also an Associate at Sergison Bates and led many projects of public relevance such as the award-winning Self-Build Housing in Tilbury, and the Dagenham Dock Sustainable Industrial Park.
From 2003 to 2007 Tim was a design tutor at London Metropolitan University and he is a regular visiting critic and lecturer at a number of schools of architecture.
