Sarah’s role within the Design for London team is primarily area-based place-shaping within the Lea Valley and the Royals Dock, ranging from broader visioning studies to design support on live projects. In addition, Sarah supports programmatic initiatives like the Outer London Fund through borough support and strategic mapping. She has also sourced and managed content and overseen the design of Design for London publications.

Sarah is a Masters graduate of the University of Sheffield, School of Architecture. She has co-founded the charity and research initiative ‘We ♥ the Suburbs’, a design and research project that addresses suburbia through public consultation, probing of local policy, collaborative design and built-form. She has worked in a research capacity on projects like ‘Collaborative and Participatory Stories’ with CABE, field: Journal, Shelter Centre's online emergency shelter library and 'Using Human Urine in Mud Brick Construction' with Architects 4 Aid and the University of Sheffield. Sarah has also worked in private architectural practice and has taught in schools of architecture in London and Sheffield.
