Alison’s work at Design for London is focused on the continued effort to preserve and enhance London’s high streets. She handles the day-to-day running of the Outer London Fund (OLF), a pan-London initiative, backed by up to £50 million, dedicated to increasing vibrancy and growth along London’s high street places, and is supporting several boroughs in delivering their OLF projects. Alison also coordinates the Specialist Assistance Team support offer through the Outer London Fund and works with consultants to produce publications and guidance notes that highlight best practice high street regeneration work.
Alison holds a BA in Urban Studies from the New School University and an MSc in Urban Planning from the Graduate School of Architecture, Planning and Preservation at Columbia University in New York City. While studying, Alison worked for Urban-Think Tank, assisting with a redevelopment proposal for the Hoograven district of Utrecht; for Columbia University researching issues in international and environmental planning; and as submissions editor for the GSAPP’s URBAN Magazine.
