Adam’s work is primarily in Canning Town and the Royal Docks where he has recently completed a suite of documents, produced jointly by the Mayors of London and LB Newham, consisting of; A Vision for the Royal Docks, Parameters for Development and the Royal Docks Spatial Principles. He also designed the ‘Crossrail Atlas’ - a study on the potential geography of urban change which could be catalysed by Crossrail.
He was educated at the University of Sheffield School of Architecture and, prior to joining Design for London in 2010, worked at 5th Studio on projects such as 'The Fatwalk' and the masterplanning of part of the Southern Fringe extension to Cambridge for Cambridge City Council.
Adam is co-editor and founder of Makeshift, an experimental fanzine about architecture - and was awarded a RIBA President's Medal Commendation in 2009 for his dissertation Negotiating the Spectacle on Dubai and the accelerated transformation of this city. He has also co-authored a research project on using human urine in mud-brick construction - published in 2007 - and worked with CABE and the University of Sheffield researching exemplary examples of alternative architectural praxis.
