We are working across London to provide ambitious improvements to the network of public spaces, from the doorstep to the street, parks and landscapes.
The transformation of Trafalgar Square, the first phase of the Foster + Partners/Atkins World Squares for All masterplan, has revived this great civic space that lies at the heart of London.
The north side of the Square has been closed to traffic, creating a broad terrace in front of the National Gallery and establishing a direct connection between the gallery and the heart of the square. Animation within the square is being provided by regular events, and a cafe and public toilets have been provided to meet the needs of visitors.
