We are working across London to provide ambitious improvements to the network of public spaces, from the doorstep to the street, parks and landscapes.
Creating a better public realm is crucial to maintaining the strength of retail in Oxford Street and the West End. Design for London is involved in several projects aimed at delivering the improvements needed.
The Oxford Street Regent Street Bond Street (ORB) Action Plan proposes initiatives to reduce pedestrian and traffic congestion, to clear visual blight and transform the street environment. The Action Plan was prepared by Gillespies and Colin Buchanan for Westminster City Council, Transport for London and the New West End Company.
Design for London is working with Westminster Council and Transport for London to ensure design coherency with other West End projects such as St Giles Circus and Marble Arch.
