We are working across London to provide ambitious improvements to the network of public spaces, from the doorstep to the street, parks and landscapes.
Design for London is working here with partners to review future land use, transport and local movement, and development capacity. We are currently co-funding a study with the London Borough of Greenwich on 'Charlton Green Spaces' to assess how to best improve the quality of, and connections between Thames Barrier Gardens, Maryon Wilson Park and Gilbert's Pit. The study is being prepared by East working with Allen Scott, who is preparing a Heritage Lottery funding bid. A planning application for part of the scheme has already been submitted and a start on site is expected in 2010.
