London Open City is a framework for making London�s public spaces fit for a growing city, fit for changing lifestyles and fit for rising to the challenge of climate change. It sets out objectives for improving London�s public space, a strategic approach to delivering those objectives and a cross section of project work that Design for London is involved in.  

A range of projects illustrate the extent of our involvement, working with public, private and voluntary sector partners, from strategic work in areas of major change to small scale interventions in the public realm.

London Open City shows how we can shape London�s rapid change and at the same time improve town centres and provide new public spaces. It also extends an invitation for others to engage in a debate about how to create places for people that work as part of a sustainable world city. London Open City ends with a cut-out self-addressed postcard, inviting the reader to share his or her views on our work and to contribute ideas to stimulate the debate on what London should be like.
