We help to initiate and shape ideas that we believe can have a positive influence on London's evolution.
New MA in Spatial Planning and Urban Design

Design for London is committed to promoting social inclusion in our work. We believe that design can actively promote equality, so that everyone can enjoy London free from discrimination caused by physical barriers.

Inclusive design refers to making spaces, places and buildings that everyone can use. We helped to develop the London Development Agency's Inclusive Design Toolkit which makes sure that LDA projects integrate inclusive design principles from the outset.

Design for London is developing a series of training courses and resources with Urban Design London to train planners and other professionals on urban design and social inclusion. We promote the Lifetime Homes standard in developments so that new homes are able to respond to changing lifestyles. We have also been working with Transport for London (TfL) to identify innovative materials that meet high standards of durability, aesthetics and ease of movement for all users, for specification in TfL's Streetscape Guidance.
