This project aims to develop a strategic walking and cycling route linking the Thames waterfront to outer London along the Rivers Pool and Ravensbourne and Deptford Creek. A series of landscapes along this route will be transformed into wetlands and backwaters to help reduce flood risk for a significant number of properties. Signage, street furniture and the identity of the route will be radically improved, and marketing will heighten residents' awareness of this asset.
Design for London has helped develop a design quality management and delivery strategy for the project as part of the London Thames Gateway Parklands Business Plan. Subject to final approvals, Central Government has committed significant capital funds over the next three years to enable delivery of the project.
