The London Borough of Barking and Dagenham commissioned Levitt Bernstein Architects with Beyond Green to prepare plans to redevelop this isolated 2,500-unit housing estate in Barking Town Centre. The Borough will appoint consultants to prepare a detailed masterplan with the prospect of starting on site by the end of 2009 and completing the first phases by 2015. Design for London assisted with consultant selection and briefing, and is conducting a number of design review sessions as part of its commitment to the revitalisation of Barking.
