Design for London is working with the London Borough of Lewisham and Transport for London to improve the public realm in the town centre, particularly addressing the severance caused by an existing gyratory system. The borough is about to commission a masterplan for the town centre, which will include input from Design for London.

Design for London is also advising the GLA Planning Decisions Unit on design issues relating to the former Greyhound Racetrack site now being developed by the Homes & Communities Agency as part of their London Wide Initiative to deliver affordable homes for key workers. The site includes a revamped station forecourt to the two existing railway stations and links to Ladywell Fields. Ladywell Fields is part of the East London Green Grid and East has been commissioned to carry out feasibility work to look at improving the park's presence within the surrounding areas including enhanced public access.
