Design for London is working with the London Borough of Greenwich to create a new cafe for Avery Hill Park.
Temporary facilities are in place after the previous café was destroyed in a fire. Design for London is working with the London Borough of Greenwich on the design and implementation of a permanent cafe space, which will include a café and community facilities. Construction is due to be completed by April 2010.
Four potential locations within the park were explored in a feasibility and design study undertaken by East, who has now been re-appointed to see the project through to implementation. Design for London is contributing funding towards the design of the café and the London Borough of Greenwich is funding its construction.
