Barking and Dagenham will open its new Arboretum, designed by Muf Architects, at 2pm Wednesday 30th September 2009. This small tree-filled space is the second phase of delivery of Barking Town Square. The square won the 2008 prize for European Public Urban Space and the prize plaque will be unveiled by the Minister for Architecture, Margaret Hodge. Design for London worked closely with the borough and applauds their ambitious re-generation programme. The project highlights the Borough's and Redrow's commitment to delivering excellent design.
