One of London’s edge boroughs, Harrow sits in the capital’s northern reaches next to beautiful green spaces that cascade into the borough from the Green Belt. This naturally forms the basis for Harrow’s inclusion in the All London Green Grid initiative, which enhances public use and enjoyment of a rich network of green spaces.

Harrow is characterised by an interesting mix of low rise suburbs, denser areas in two ‘centres’, large working industrial sites as well as pieces of road and rail infrastructure that with a little thought could be made less divisive. This is what the London Borough of Harrow are hoping to do, helped along by Design for London and some talented teams working on the Area Action Plan (led by East architects) as well as a number of specific local sites.

Harrow is an Outer London borough and we look forward to welcoming bids for local projects as part of the Outer London Fund – as well as facilitating their development and ensuring design quality is of the high standard the area deserves. Such exciting projects sit alongside larger scale developments, all of which are key to the wider vision for the borough’s regeneration.
