Located within the London Riverside area of London Thames Gateway, Dagenham Dock South Industrial Area is set to benefit from major investment over the next fifteen years. Design for London is working with partners to ensure that this investment creates the best possible results for all stakeholders.

Specific projects include the Chequers Lane/Hindmans Way road upgrade project by the London Development Agency (LDA), with public realm design elements by Florian Beigel and the Architecture Research Unit (phase one is complete, phase two includes the Hindmans Way loop road and a new riverside public space).

An urban design framework for the wider area has also been produced by Sergison Bates Architects. This includes design guidance for the remaining development sites, including those owned by the LDA and the London Thames Gateway Development Corporation.

Design for London has been involved from conception through to implementation, working together with partners to define ambitions, advise on policy, assist in selecting consultants, write briefs, and act as design advisors on planning applications.
