Design for London successfully argued for a fundamental reappraisal of this site's masterplan following completion of the first major office building. The London Development Agency (LDA) appointed KCAP architects and Maccreanor Lavington to provide a new vision for the site, which is located east of the Excel exhibition centre. This is providing a challenging brief, given the proximity to London City Airport and resulting environmental concerns. The masterplanners are also involved in the next phases of development at the western end, where new hotels and office developments are being progressed.
