Design for London has been working with partners on strategies for this complex mixed industrial and residential area, which includes residential areas north of the A13, and Dagenham Dock South industrial area.
Dagenham Dock South will continue to be an industrial area, accommodating a new sustainable industrial park, but will also make provision for new public space.
Beyond this area, residential-led development will establish significant new neighbourhoods. These include Barking Riverside (10,000 homes), South Dagenham West (3,250 homes) and South Dagenham East (3,000 homes).
Taken together, these developments will have a huge impact on Dagenham, particularly in relation to connectivity and river access. Design for London is working with partners to ensure that this impact is positive.
